KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 4, 2007) - Cassidy Gold Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CDY) is pleased to announce that drilling has resumed at the Company's 100% owned Kouroussa Gold Project in Guinea, West Africa. Initial drilling will focus on the Junction and Bag Farm Prospects on the Sodyanfe Trend. Twenty-one reverse circulation (RC) drill holes are planned along the Junction deposit, including down dip of known mineralization where grades may be increasing to depth. Eighteen holes are planned to link the Junction and Bag Farm zones, a distance of 300 metres.
At Junction, mineralization remains open to the northeast, to the southwest toward Bag Farm, and down dip. Further exploration will focus on targets further to the northeast toward Kinkine and southwest of Bag Farm. Unlike Koekoe and Kinkine, Sodyanfe is largely hosted in mudstones along the western flank of a series of mafic volcanic rocks known as the Niandan Chain. The north-trending X-Vein is hosted within pillowed flows. Exploration will also target the eastern flank of the Niandan volcanics. In the Koekoe area, drilling is planned on the north extensions of the JJ and KD-1 zones.
The recent resource estimate completed by Coffey Mining upgraded the Indicated Resources to 466,000 ounces of gold contained in 6,736,000 tonnes grading 2.2 g/t Au and the Inferred Resources to 477,000 ounces of gold contained in 8,772,000 tonnes grading 1.7 g/t Au. This represents an increase of 38% and 31%, in the Indicated and Inferred Resources respectively, over the September 2006 resource update. Increases were seen in the Sanu Filanan zone, KD-1 zone, JJ Vein, and Sanu Folo zone. Step out drilling also discovered a new deposit, the Sanu Filanan North. All five deposits have significant potential to increase with additional resource drilling.
Regionally, Spectrem Air Limited has been contracted to complete an airborne EM survey covering all the Kouroussa concessions. Primary regional targets include the Dalaoule/Banjounani Prospects to the northwest. Previous drilling has uncovered significant mineralization without a defined trend. Airborne EM is expected to assist in interpreting the structural controls and trends in this area. Other important targets include Manie, where previous drilling has also uncovered significant mineralization. Benegban and Karikarissa further north and northeast of Kouroussa host significant artisanal workings and soil geochemical anomalies. AEM will assist in more precise targeting on those sites.
Coffey Mining will once again be managing the exploration program on behalf of the Company. Christopher J. Wild, P.Eng, V.P. Exploration, is the Company's Qualified Person for this release. For more information, please visit the Company's website at www.cassidygold.com.
